“A beauteous soprano voice, crystal clear, great warmth”
Welsh born vocalist Amelia Jones is a compelling, passionate and nuanced performer known for her crystal clear tone and expressive vocal delivery. Amelia is now based in Bristol, UK, after spending over a decade in Australia.
Amelia’s innate fascination for interpretation in conjunction with a bold musicality have led her to become a choice vocalist for cutting-edge contemporary composers, in a live performance and professional recording capacity.
Amelia has been heard on an international scale for her work as a recording artist on original soundtracks for award winning video games and Japanese anime productions. Significant vocal appearances include the beloved City of Tears from Australian video game Hollow Knight, which has amassed over 20 million streams on Spotify, End of An Era from Alan Wake 2, Falling Through Starlight from Japanese anime The Rising of the Shield Hero, several tracks from multi award winning anime Made in Abyss, and several tracks from smash-hit indie game Slay The Princess with a soundtrack by American composer Brandon Boone - the recipient of the World Soundtrack Award for games in 2024.
Her 2019 performance in UnderSCORE, the first symphonic concert to solely feature game music by Australian composers to an audience of 5000 people, established Amelia’s place as a "strong vocal presence in Australian video game music" (ABC Classic). Amelia has continued her passion for performing live Video Game Music throughout her career and onto the UK stage, with a recent guest vocalist appearance with The London Video Game Orchestra. Amelia had her debut performance with internationally acclaimed Irish vocal ensemble ANÚNA at the Fleadh Cheoil festival in 2022.
Amelia is regularly engaged as a solo recitalist, a chamber singer and chorister. A recent recital in Bristol Cathedral titled Tales that Transcend offered an eclectic programme curated by Amelia - including Fauré, jazz standards, Radiohead, contemporary Australian art song, Britten, and well-loved tunes from video games and anime. Each piece flowed into the next connected by a common thread.
Since returning to the UK in early 2023, Amelia has performed in many concerts with The Fitzhardinge Consort, and has appeared as a soloist with The Fulltone Orchestra, English Symphony Orchestra, Bristol Ensemble and Southbank Sinfonia.
